How to Explain Animal Telepathic Communication to Anyone

Share

Wondering how to explain animal telepathic communication to someone who doesn’t believe in it? Well, you don’t have to actially convince them. After 25+ years as an animal communicator, what I’ve found is that these conversations work best when you stop trying to prove animal communication is real, but share what it has actually been like for you. Because your own personal experience is the one thing nobody can argue you out of!

I know most people reading this may have a version of the same moment. Maybe you mention this at dinner, and a fork stops halfway up, and tthen here’s a half-second where you can feel everyone at the table deciding what to do with what you just said…

In these cases, it really helps to know that people are in wildly different places with this… Some of your friends already believe animals are intuitive, just never thought much about it. Somenever considered it, not even once. And the word telepathic is an actually hard word for some people to hear, because it sounds like something out of a SciFi movie. But none of that means anything bad, it just means your approach can make a difference.

How to Explain Animal Telepathic Communication To Friends and Family

The goal here is never to ‘convince’, but rather to share. That distinction between forcing someone to believe, and sharing your own experience gives the conversation and entirely different meaning, because convincing puts 2 people on opposite sides of a debate. But sharing doesn’t. So, when you’re telling someone what actually happened to you, there’s nothing to push back against.

By the way, friends and family are the hardest audience for this, and that’s not because they’re less open than strangers… It’s because you want them to believe you. Animal communication is too big of a thing to be alone in.

But beliefs don’t happen just because somebody built a good argument. They happen because someone had a real experience. And that’s true of you, too! You believe what you believe about animals because of things that really happened to you, not because a blog post like Can skeptics learn animal communication? talked you into it.

So… speak from your own experience. “Here’s what happened” goes further than “here’s how it works, and once you understand it you’ll get it.” One is a story, while the other is a lesson nobody really asked for.

And the hardes part is this: stop looking for their approval. You don’t need it. All you really need is your love and excitement.

What to Say When Someone Asks “Is Animal Communication Real?”

When someone asks whether animal communication is real, the answer that follows shouldn’t be a defense, just a description. So tell them what you’ve seen happen, what happened for you, and what helped you understand about your animal and about yourself.

There’s a big difference between “Yes, it’s real, and here’s why…” and “Here’s my personal experience with it”.

The first sounds like an opening statement in a trial. But the second phrase sounds like a person talking about their own life, and there’s no counterargument for that.

And if they’re actually curious rather than poking at you, this is what I’d send them.

How to Talk to Skeptics About Animal Communication Without Losing Them

Most conversations with skeptics go sideways for the same 3 reasons, and all of them come from treating the conversation as “something to win”. Drop that part, and it usually gets more interesting.

Here are three things NOT to do when talking to skeptics about animal communication:

Don’t try to convert someone to your beliefs. This isn’t specific to animal communication actually, try it with anything and you get a debate. Not fun!

Avoid constructing an argument and preparing counterpoints. If you’re rehearsing all your points, you’re going in with the energy of “convincing.” No one wants to be convinced of anything…

Remember that everyone’s point of view is valid. Beliefs come from experiences, and most people need their own rather than to rely on yours.

What TO do when talking to skeptics about animal communication:

So what do you actually need to say? Stay with your emotions and your passion. Nobody can tell you your feelings are wrong, and emotion does connect people who don’t agree on a single fact.

“I feel so excited when I do this”, or “I’ve been meeting all these cool people who really get me. I feel so accepted”.

Your experience and feelings are your own. An open-minded person, or a loving person for that matter, can simply be excited for you and your experience. And while doing that, their open mindedness can also make way for new experiences for themselves.

You may even want to hand your skeptic friend something to read about animal telepathy if they seem at all interested themselves. Let them go be curious on their own time, no pressure from you.

Simple Ways to Explain How Animal Telepathic Communication Actually Works

Animals communicate intuitively through energy. Intuition is the ability (or the sixth sense) we’re all born with, and energy is what carries the information from one being to another. The connection runs through what I call the Universal language of Unconditional Love, and learning to tap back into it is how people connect psychically with animals.

The surprising part is that this isn’t an ability some of us got and others didn’t. Every one of us is born with access to it, but most of us shut it down by about age 5, because we’re being raised into a world that runs on logic and data, and makes fun of people who don’t think that same way.

So, when talking about animal communication, you’re not describing an actual superpower. You’re describing a skill we’ve all had, but many stopped using it. Often times, skeptical friends have had some type of experience in their life that they can’t explain, until they realize that we’re all born intuitive.

How to Use Everyday Examples Your Family Will Actually Understand

The fastest way to make animal communication feel… less crazy to a skeptic is to point at something intuitive the person has already experienced with their own animal. Most people have quite a few of these moments but have never labeled them as intuitive. In fact, many skeptics just think they know their pet really well (which of course, is true, but also intuition is playing a huge role).

Here are a few things to share with your skeptic friend:

Your animal knows how you’re feeling even when you haven’t said a word about it. They’re not reading your face, they’re feeling your emotions intuitively. That’s why when you come home from work after a bad day, they know to gently crawl into your lap, without you even asking.

It’s also intuition when your pet is at the door before your car is in the driveway. That’s not the engine. That’s your intention to come home (which they can hear, intuitively).

Your dog knows the vet trip from the park trip before you’ve said anything or touched the leash. They got the mental image because you were sitting there thinking about what you were about to do.

And in a room full of people, the cat goes and sits with the one person who is quietly not okay, when nobody said a thing out loud because that cat has intuitively felt the emotions of that person and knows exactly what will help in this moment.

What to Do When Friends and Family Still Do Not Believe in Animal Communication

It can take a long time for friends and family to come around (and some never do) so you want to create a plan that doesn’t involve giving up your work or giving up your family. The best plan is actually quite simple: become more selective about what you share, not about who you keep. There will always be people who don’t understand what you’re interested in, and that doesn’t make you (or them) wrong. So, choose what you share and with whom.

My mother was pretty unhappy when I left my MBA program, and for several years she could not wrap her head around me building an intuitive business. I’d send out my email newsletter and she would call me about it. Not to say she liked it. She’d say, “You didn’t send that to anyone but me, right?”

That went on for several years!

Then in 2004 her dog ran away…

She was frantic, and she called me in the middle of the night to ask if I could find him. I connected with him, shared exactly where he was, and he got home safe and sound.

After that she called me about her dogs all the time.

That did not make her gung ho about what I do for a living. She never really delved in to understand it herself. What changed was, that she found something in it for herself, and that turned out to be enough. I never convinced her of anything. I kept doing the work and kept being happy doing it, and eventually she had her own experience.

So protect your confidence and keep practicing. The people who change their minds almost always do it after something happens to them, not after something was explained to them.

Resources You Can Share With Friends and Family Who Want to Learn More

When somebody does get curious, having a place to send them couts more than having the perfect explanation ready. Here’s what I’d hand them, depending on where they are.

Just curious: my animal communicator YouTube Channel is the easiest place to start. There’s no commitment, and they can watch actual readings happen, instead of taking anyone’s word for it.

Wants to read: my books about animal communication go deeper into Soul Level work than a video can.

Wants people more than information: my Be Open animal communicators community is full of animal lovers who completely get it, and a lot of members arrive having felt like the only person in their life who thinks this way.

Wants to actually learn it: My Soul Level Animal Communication® 101 course is where we start. The very first thing we work on is energy management, which is really about learning to use your own energy and awareness so the intuitive information can get through. By the second lesson students are making their first connection with an animal.

And if the person you’d most like to send this to isn’t ready for any of it, that’s fine too! Send it to yourself and go practice.

How to Talk to Skeptics About Animal Communication

FAQ

How do I explain animal telepathic communication to skeptics?

Share your experience instead of building a case. Tell them what happened to you, what you noticed, and what helped you understand about your pet. A skeptic can argue with a claim, but not with your account of your own life. Staying with your excitement and your emotions keeps the whole conversation out of debate territory.

What do I say when people don’t believe in animal communication?

Say less about the mechanism, and more about how it feels to do it. “I feel so excited when I do this” and “I’ve been meeting people who really get me” are both unarguable, because nobody can tell you your feelings are wrong. And remember that it isn’t your job to convince anyone, since most people only change their beliefs after their own experience.

What is the best way to introduce someone to animal communication?

Start with something they’ve already noticed in their own animal. The dog waiting at the door before the car is in the driveway, the cat who goes to the one person who’s upset, the animal who knows the vet trip from the park trip before you’ve said a word. Those moments are already familiar, so you’re not asking anyone to accept a new idea. Just to look at a familiar one differently.

How do I talk to my family and friends about being an animal communicator?

Speak from excitement and experience, and stop looking for their approval. Share what happened rather than teaching how it works, be selective about what you bring up rather than cutting people out, and let your own happiness do the rest. My mother took years and a lost dog to come around, and I never argued her into it once.
