My audience problem

From my Kripalu Soul Level Animal Communication®® 101 workshop – it was a little problem!

I had decided to give a talk to the whole campus the night before the workshop was ending and I was SOoooooooo tired.

This was one of those moments where I was asking myself why I ever committed to this! Sometimes I forget that I can’t do EVERYTHING.

So, the evening comes (7:30pm which is my bedtime) and about 70 people showed up. I’d been kind of hoping that only a few would be there so I could end early.

But that’s not what happened.

So, all these people show up and I start talking.

I talk about the animals and how they feel about animal communication. How they communicate with people who don’t think they’re psychic… how animals feel about crossing over.

And then I started doing readings. Now, normally when I finish an audience reading for people to clap. It gives me a moment to take a breath and then hone in on who I’m going to give the next reading to. It’s a really necessary mental break.

But at this demo, as soon as I would finish a reading, everyone would immediately shoot their hands up in the air for the next reading. PHEW! it was a lot. No one clapped – they were just hoping for a reading of their own.

Now, in some ways that’s fine. It’s a sign I’m on track right? They are enjoying what I am doing and they want their own experience with it.

But in other ways, like with my tiredness, it was hard. I couldn’t say, “Oh please give me a moment and clap!” as I would have felt like an a$$.

So what did I learn? Don’t over commit!! LOL

love and light,

Danielle

And by the way, what is this picture? I have no idea. I’m clearly laughing at something – but it was too late at night so I don’t have any idea!

Oh my gosh-SO happy you powered through your tiredness. This was seriously a highlight of my week at Kripalu and I am FOREVER grateful to have been a part of this. (And also for you serendipitously bumping into me in the book store while buying your book!) THANK YOU!

I absolutely loved your talk. Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had at Kripalu. I may have to take some classes with you. By the way, do you teach kids this beautiful skill? My kids (ages 10 and 12) were so intrigued. We may have to make it a family affair. (And your hair is divine!). Much love and light my friend!

I am so grateful to you, Danielle, that you presented this workshop, and even more so now that I know how tired you were. I hope it is some comfort to know that your presentation moved me so much on a number of different levels. It was definitely the highlight of my time at Kripalu. I bought your books and although it may be a little early to tell, I have a strong feeling they may be transformative. I think we didn’t clap because we were so intensely in the moment. You are a gift and I thank you. Love and light to you.

Geri, I’m glad to read this. I was REALLY really tired – but it seemed that it didn’t matter. I get the feeling that peeps were still happy. I’m glad you bought the books and I’m glad for your high hopes for them too! Love and light to you right back!

Hi Danielle, I was there at Kripalu. I went without any preconceived ideas of what an animal communicator does, I just went to learn and enjoy it. I really loved your style, you seemed very kind, also with a sense of humor. I think there was no clapping because it seemed like a conversation between you and the audience, not a performance (I think the conversation is better!). I’m saying that so you don’t perceive any negative intent, I think you were very warmly received by your audience and that we loved you. I really loved 2 of the cat stories, the “shiny fur” cat who wanted the showers because of the extra attention from her guardian, and the cat who wanted you to know she was tiny and delicate. You were very warm and charming. I bought the book! Thanks for getting through it even though tired, and rest assured, the audience loved you.

Funny Anne – I never remember what happens in the audience readings. It’s nice that you’ve reminded me. I remember seeing the shiny fur – the cat kept showing me the shine again and again (that cat was working that human for sure!)
thank you for taking the time to comment here Anne. I appreciate you.

I just read this again and want to tell you that I purposely sat in the back of the room to observe the audience. You captured everyone’s attention. The flow was perfect!! Just about all of your students were there!! I couldn’t agree more with Anne (above:)
